The Software Engineer (QA) will own automated testing for UI and APIs using PNC’s stack (Selenium/Cucumber, Karate), build reliable test data with strong SQL and DB validation, and keep pipelines green by triaging failures with clear, actionable evidence. They will partner with BSA/Dev to ensure storytotest traceability, contribute to TSA/TSR and  TSAT artifacts, and help drive release readiness through CIintegrated reporting and governance compliance

  • Engage daily with Business Analysts and Developer to understand goals, workflows
  • Design, automate, and maintain endtoend test suites for UI and services using our enterprise QA frameworks (Selenium)
  • Author API tests (functional, contract, and negative) and UI tests (happy path, edge, accessibility) with reliable locators and robust synchronization; leverage Selenium conventions were appropriate.
  • Build reliable test data: create, mask, and seed datasets across nonprod environments; write SQL to validate backend effects (CRUD, referential integrity)
  • Own daily pipeline health: triage flaky tests, analyze failures (logs), drive quick fixes, and stabilize suites; escalate systemic issues with clear evidence.
  • Partner tightly with BAs/BSAs and developers to clarify acceptance criteria, refine testability, and ensure storytotest traceability; participate in defect triage with Product and Release.
  • Contribute to release readiness: provide test coverage summaries, risk assessments, and signoff evidence in validation plans; support postdeployment validation (PDV) activities
  • Champion quality practices: advocate for shiftleft testing, code reviews of test assets, testability hooks, and accessibility checks; keep automation libraries current
  • Document test scenarios and outcomes in standard artifacts
  • Continuously improve refactor for maintainability, reduce duplication with pageobjects/DSLs, and raise the bar on coverage (including nonfunctional checks like performance and accessibility where needed)

Preferred Skills

  • 6+ years as a Quality Assurance Testing in an agile software delivery environment
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools, should be able to make maintain existing scripts as well write new scripts
  • Hands on experience with testing tools such as; Selenium, Cucumber, Karate, etc.
  • Proven ability to write clear test cases and acceptance criteria
  • SQL proficiency
  • Strong understanding of data setup

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $45,000.00 – $121,900.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
