Point C is a National third-party administrator (TPA) with local market presence that delivers customized self-funded benefit programs. Our commitment and partnership means thinking beyond the typical solutions in the market – to do more for clients – and take them beyond the standard “Point A to Point B.” We have researched the most effective cost containment strategies and are driving down the cost of plans with innovative solutions such as, network and payment integrity, pharmacy benefits and care management. There are many companies with a mission. We are a mission with a company.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our AI/Automation team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Azure-hosted web portals, platforms, and intelligent automation solutions. You'll work across several active products — including internal portals, an external client-facing portal, CRM systems, and Argus, our large-scale EDI processing platform currently in testing.

This role is hands-on. You'll be writing code, building features, integrating AI capabilities, and shipping to production — but you'll also need to think architecturally about how components fit together in Azure. We value engineers who can own a feature end-to-end: understand the requirement, design the approach, build it, and deploy it. You'll be expected to leverage AI-assisted development tools and incorporate AI/automation into your daily workflow.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Web Portals – Build and maintain Azure-hosted portals including a member portal (internal), client portal (external-facing), and the Argus portal (internal). Full-stack work spanning UI, API, and data layers.
  • Argus Platform – Contribute to our flagship EDI processing platform. Argus handles the full spectrum of healthcare EDI operations (eligibility, claims, remittance, acknowledgments) and is a substantial, actively evolving codebase.
  • CRM Systems – Develop and extend CRM functionality supporting TPA operations and client management.
  • Azure Infrastructure – Work with Azure services (App Services, Azure SQL, Functions, Storage, Azure AI Services, etc.) to build scalable, reliable, intelligent applications. Participate in architectural decisions for new features and platform improvements.
  • AI & Automation – Integrate AI capabilities into products and workflows. Use AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Azure AI) as part of your daily process. Identify and implement automation opportunities across platforms.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration – Work with stakeholders across multiple TPA entities within the Point C organization to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Qualifications:

Required

  • 3–7+ years of professional software development experience
  • .NET ecosystem proficiency – C#, ASP.NET Core / MVC, Web API, Entity Framework or similar ORM
  • AI-assisted development – Comfort using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure AI, or similar) as part of your development workflow. Willingness to integrate AI/automation into the products you build — not just use it as a coding assistant.
  • SQL Server – Comfortable writing queries, stored procedures, and working with relational data models
  • Azure platform experience – Deploying and managing applications in Azure. Familiarity with App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, or equivalent cloud services.
  • Web development fundamentals – HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience building functional, usable web interfaces.
  • Architectural thinking – Ability to reason about application structure, service boundaries, data flow, and scalability. You don't need to be a solutions architect, but you should be able to make sound design decisions and articulate trade-offs.
  • Version control – Git-based workflows (GitHub, Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Self-directed remote work – Ability to manage your own priorities, communicate proactively, and deliver without in-person oversight

Preferred

  • Healthcare / TPA industry experience – Understanding of benefits administration, claims processing, or payer/provider workflows
  • EDI / X12 familiarity – Exposure to healthcare transaction standards (834, 835, 837, 999, etc.). We have tooling that handles heavy parsing, but domain awareness accelerates onboarding.
  • Azure architecture experience – Resource provisioning, networking, identity/security (Entra ID), CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform)
  • Azure AI Services – Experience with Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, AI Search, Document Intelligence, or similar
  • CRM platform experience – Building or customizing CRM systems
  • Frontend framework experience – React, Angular, Blazor, or similar

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.

Pay Transparency
$90,000$100,000 USD
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
  • Paid time off (PTO) and disability leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
