Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions align to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Analyzing business requirements via Excel/Word/JIRA/Confluence and translating them into software design via brainstorming sessions in Lucid, documentation in Confluence and prototypes in Java using IDE IntelliJ; Implementing software solutions; Designing scalable software solutions and microservices, leveraging industry best practices and design patterns in Java and Python; Applying Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology for Unit, Regression and Functional testing; Utilize advanced techniques to process large data sets using multithreading and multiprocessing in PySpark; Advanced frameworks including Spring, Struts, Mockito, Jackson, Junit, TestNG; Scripting in Unix and Windows; Experience with AWS services (S3/Lambda/EKS). This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Developing distributed and scalable services including REST APIs and web services leveraging Kubernetes; Multithreading in future and concurrent collections in Java and in Kafka based event driven design; Continuous Delivery & Continuous Integration using Agile SDLC practices; Continuous Delivery & Continuous Integration using tools including Maven, Jenkin, or GIT; Data Architecture disciplines and languages including SQL; Performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow and query optimization using programming languages including SQL and Python. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: JavaScript in Web applications; Debugging web applications using IDE and browser-based tools.
