Job DescriptionThe team you will be joining: Contact Handling
At Wise, our Contact Handling team plays a crucial role in shaping the Customer Support experience. Alongside two other engineering teams, we build and maintain the core systems that ensure seamless support for our customers as we scale. Our mission is simple: create a frictionless, efficient, and intelligent customer support experience.
Join us in tackling exciting challenges like:
Understanding and categorizing customer pain points with precision.
Empowering support agents with the right tools and insights to resolve issues efficiently.
Delivering accurate, personalized automated responses to enhance customer satisfaction.
Our main vision points are:
🚀 Experimentation: We don’t always have the right answers upfront, so we embrace continuous learning. Through rapid iterations and data-driven insights, we refine our approach to solving complex problems.
🔧 Maintainability: While we innovate, our core foundations — contact channels and agent tooling — must remain stable, scalable, and maintainable. This ensures we can focus on future growth without compromising reliability.
🤝 Collaboration: We believe in teamwork, both within our team and across Wise. By sharing knowledge and working closely with other teams, we create solutions that truly enhance the customer experience.

- Work with Java (and optionally with React) to build impactful features (we require 3+ years of experience Java or other JVM based language and experience with Spring framework).
- Navigate and shape complex systems.
- Balance your capacity between maintenance tasks and projects directly impacting our target metrics
- Take full ownership of your projects—from ideation to deployment—ensuring they drive real impact. You’ll make decisions — and sometimes honest mistakes. That’s part of the process, and that’s okay.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, engineers and other product teams in order to deliver impact.
- Help to size and prioritize the team's initiatives.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
