POSITION: Software Engineer III
WORKSITE: 60 Acorn Park Drive, Cambridge, MA 02140
JOB DUTIES:
- Work closely with a dynamic technical team and partners in product management, digital experience design, QA, and DevOps to build high-value software for our clients;
- Drive decisions in all phases of the software development life cycle;
- Drive solutions for teams by solving complex problems, troubleshooting microservice APIs (application programming interfaces) and multicomponent systems;
- Mentor fellow software engineers and collaborators to help them build the right set of skills and processes, allowing Forrester to deliver innovative digital products;
- Work with our data scientists to implement new machine learning approaches, feedback mechanisms, and data pipelines that help us better respond to client needs;
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise web-based Java solutions and microservices in production application; and
- Design and execute all levels of automated testing (unit, load, and performance), including writing unit tests in JMockit/Junit/Mockito.
Telecommuting permitted up to 60%
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer III-related occupation.
Position requires 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Designing, building, and maintaining enterprise web-based Java solutions and microservices in production applications;
- Utilizing Spring Boot and Spring Cloud to develop microservice applications to support the overall business functionality of websites;
- Utilizing SQL to generate reports, develop SQL queries which help the above spring micro services to extract information to display on websites;
- Designing and executing automated tests including junit and performance tests;
- Defining stories and acceptance criteria in JIRA, functional enhancements and application maintenance.
Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
