As a Software Engineer III - Solutions Delivery at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank - Payment Engineering and Architecture Solutions Delivery team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Address non-functional requirements to ensure stability, security and scalability of the API infrastructure
  • Actively participate in a highly energy global agile team
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for the generated deliverables
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Foster to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Familiarity with container and container orchestration such as Kubernetes, ECS and Docker
  • Strong experience with Terraform and automation tooling and scripting knowledge (Bash/YAML), git-based workflows
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages i.e. Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful API's
  • Practical AWS Cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • AWS Skills: EKS, ECS, MSK
  • Database experience: ClickHouse, Aurora, DynamoDB
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
  • Java & Spring Boot
  • Performance and stress testing
