These tasks are accomplished through cutting-edge technology stack on the Google Cloud Platform, including C# and Java-based microservices, GraphQL, and Distributed Storage. What You’ll Do:
- Lead, mentor, code, and review for best practices, stability, and uptime.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand the domain.
- Own platform architecture, driving scalable technology and roadmap decisions.
- Implement and advocate engineering best practices, leveling up engineers.
- Provide visibility into team results and bottlenecks, driving data-driven action plans.
- Think beyond current tech limitations for collaborative, feasible solutions.
- Foster continuous improvement via agile processes for enterprise-grade experiences.
- Use C# or Java to design data consumption/production processes and build backend applications for Wayfair Pricing Platforms.
- Design and implement data processing pipelines using Google Cloud Platform technologies.
- Provide superior monitoring visibility for platform health using DataDog.
- Hone technical leadership by growing engineers.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to refine product requirements.
- Uphold high-quality standards, advocating for best practices and leading code reviews.
- Explore and implement new technologies and frameworks.
- Use e-commerce business knowledge to convert product requirements into technical solutions.
We Are a Match Because You Have:
- 7+ years of experience and deep understanding of C# programming language
- Proven success in mentoring junior engineers to improve quality and reduce defects
- Ability to provide visibility to progress through short feedback loops and data-driven action
- Successful background designing production systems at scale including fault tolerance, reliability, performance, and security
- Experience with scaling distributed systems, streaming technologies, microservice architectures in a cloud environment (ideally Google Cloud Platform)
- Passion for leading a large, cross-cutting technical initiative to delivery, cross-functional consensus building and influencing design decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Cloud Native architecture platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience working with event-driven architectures, DDD, and TDD
- Experience and desire to work in an agile environment
- Preferred experience in the CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience in system monitoring using tools like DataDog etc.
- Experience in development and technical design of frontend and backend applications from start to finish
- Understanding of functional programming and javascript best practices
- Experience and deep understanding of atomic design (reusable components)
