As a Software Engineer II at OpenGov, you'll build best-in-class SaaS solutions that enable efficiency, transparency, and accountability within government agencies. As a crucial member of our engineering team, you'll lead and deliver new features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile environment, utilizing modern technologies such as ReactJS, Typescript, GraphQL, and NodeJS in an AI first engineering culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate across the organization to understand and translate business priorities into shipped features delivering customer success.

  • Generate clean, efficient, and well-documented software following industry best practices.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members for both Human and AI generated code.

  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software with minimum supervision

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the team

  • Contribute to OpenGov’s Engineering culture of innovation, leading-edge technology adoption and quality

Requirements and Preferred Experience:
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environment

  • Experience gathering and incorporating feedback from users, teammates, or stakeholders to improve the quality and usability of products or projects.

  • Experience working across the stack (frontend + backend) and comfort shipping features end-to-end

  • Experience building with AI-driven UX, agents, and workflow automation (direct ML experience not required)

  • BA/BS in a computer-science-related discipline or equivalent experience required

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data structure, algorithms

Compensation:
Boston, MA: $130,000 - $144,200

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
