As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management Technology Team, you will be part of a dynamic team working on financial technologies that drive the future of banking. You will collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to design, develop, and implement software solutions that enhance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of software engineers to work on basic to moderately complex tasks.
- Participate in the execution and implementation of processes and procedures under the guidance of senior team members.
- Engage in successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Assist in building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers.
- Work with other software engineers to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and implementation of availability, reliability, scalability, and solutions in applications.
- Identify and report issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
- Support the team in improving operational efficiencies and functionality.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Experience working within a team focused on quality in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including peer review, testing, and automated deployment.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code with an API First mentality.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Basic knowledge of Java and UI development with experience in React or Angular, TypeScript, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with messaging platforms like Kafka or MQ.
- Exposure to automation tools and practices such as Cucumber, Test Driven Development (TDD), and agile tools like JIRA.
- Understanding of modern agile software delivery practices such as Scrum and CI/CD.
- Willingness to learn and be guided by senior team members to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience working at code level is preferred
- Basic understanding of observability tools and practices such as monitoring and telemetry collection using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Understanding of Agile methods and basic stakeholder management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of technologists at office and able to capatizlize on the benefits of in-person work for collaboration, networking, and overall company culture.
