The Backend Software Engineering teams at Peloton are instrumental in powering the comprehensive experiences across our acclaimed product portfolio, encompassing our Bike, Tread, Row, and Mobile applications. We empower our global community to seamlessly discover and engage with live and on-demand fitness content across a multitude of disciplines, fostering connection through leaderboards, member interactions, engaging fitness challenges, and the discovery of inspiring music.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT

As a collaborative Backend Software Engineer, you will thrive in our dynamic and iterative environment. You will partner closely with Product Managers and Frontend Software Engineers to effectively scope complexity and strategically break down new features into incremental releases. Upholding the highest engineering standards, you will ensure our systems are consistently traceable, reliable, performant, and scalable. You will be pivotal in guiding our efforts to build adaptable microservices that support rapid growth and iterative feature development. Your focus on simplicity will drive solutions that reduce complexity across our service landscape. As a valued team member, you will champion collective learning and foster shared ownership through active participation in code reviews, design discussions, white boarding sessions, and pair-programming.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Python, or comparable programming languages.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling robust RESTful microservices.
  • Familiarity with accessing, querying, and writing to diverse data stores, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch.
  • Competence with at least one relational database system, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or CockroachDB.
  • A strong foundational understanding of software engineering principles, encompassing data structures, algorithms, clean code practices, and automated testing methodologies.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of one year of software development experience in a professional environment.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range

$115,772$150,504 USD
