The Software Engineer I will join the Core Platform team where they'll work at the foundation of our cloud ecosystem. This role will design, implement, and support shared infrastructure and cloud-native platform services that power every Imprivata product. We're not only expanding the capabilities of our platform but also enhancing it with AI at every step - everything from intelligent observability pipelines to LLM-powered developer tooling. The ideal candidate will live and breathe AI to help us in our mission.

This position offers a salary range of $109,800.00 to $119,800.00 (inclusive of variable compensation such as bonuses and incentives). Duties and Responsibilities
- Ship platform components- Design, build, and maintain Java micro-services and common libraries.
- Explore embedding AI everywhere - Add Generative-AI powered capabilities to new and existing components.
- Level-up our toolchain - Prototype and productionize AI assistants for CI/CD, incident response, and test-generation workflows.
- Write great code & tests - Develop high-quality, readable, and testable code, while also participating in peer reviews of teammates' work.
- Own quality in production - Instrument services with OpenTelemetry, build SLO dashboards, and use AI-driven alerts to keep high level of uptime.
- Grow fast - Pair with senior engineers and present a "What I automated this sprint" demo at every team review.
- Other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 1+ years' of providing relevant experience supporting applications and systems in a production environment.
- Solid CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, networking, concurrency).
- Great interest in, or coursework related to security, AI or machine learning.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java, Scala or Kotlin through school projects or internships.
- Familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes).
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with version-control systems such as Git/GitHub.
- Demonstrated passion for applying AI to real-world engineering problems (ex. personal projects, open-source contributions, hackathon participations, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other AI pair-programming tools.
- Experience building API-first services using REST or gRPC.
- Understanding of security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, TLS, OIDC, or SAML.
- Having AWS certifications or equivalent cloud depth.
- Knowledge of gRPC, OpenAPI, or GraphQL schema design.
