Software Engineer, Enterprise Engineering
The primary role of the Software Engineer on the Enterprise Engineering team is to build and maintain shared services and APIs that support both Revecore’s Bridge (Underpayments) and AcciClaim (Complex Claims) platforms. This person will contribute to the design and development of the common service layer that powers both business lines, working under the guidance of the Enterprise Engineering Director and Senior Software Engineer.
As a founding member of this newly formed team, this person will have the opportunity to shape the team’s culture and practices from day one. They will work with .NET/C# and SQL Server to build APIs and backend services, collaborate closely with the senior members of the Enterprise Engineering team, and engage regularly with engineers across Bridge and AcciClaim. On a daily basis, this person will write code, participate in design and code review discussions, learn the patterns and practices of shared services development, and grow their skills as a backend engineer in a cloud-native, AI-forward environment. Revecore expects every engineer on this team to actively leverage AI coding assistants — such as Claude Code — as a standard part of their development workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET Core and C# as part of the shared service layer for the Bridge and AcciClaim platforms.
- Write and maintain SQL Server database schemas, stored procedures, and queries using T-SQL to support shared data operations.
- Implement features and enhancements in accordance with API contracts and design specifications defined by the team.
- Write clean, readable, and well-tested code. Produce and execute unit and integration tests to ensure quality and reliability of shared services.
- Participate in code reviews, incorporate feedback constructively, and contribute to a culture of technical quality within the team.
- Follow Agile methodology, participate in team ceremonies (Standup, Retro, Planning, Refinement), and contribute to estimation and sprint planning.
- Revise, refactor, and debug code to resolve defects, address technical debt, and improve performance.
- Actively develop proficiency with AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code) and other AI-powered development tools, using them to accelerate feature delivery, reduce time spent on repetitive tasks, and learn faster as an engineer.
- Contribute to documentation of API contracts, data models, and service behaviors to ensure shared services are easy to consume and maintain.
- Collaborate with Bridge and AcciClaim engineering teams to understand their requirements and support integration of shared services.
- Learn and adopt team engineering standards, secure coding practices, and HIPAA/PHI data handling guidelines.
- Provide Level 2 support for production issues affecting shared services under the guidance of senior team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 or more years of software development experience in .NET/C# required. Experience and readiness to code in C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server (T-SQL), and RESTful API patterns.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts and ability to write and debug SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or equivalent cloud platforms is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with REST API design principles and service-oriented or microservices architectures.
- Good understanding of secure coding guidelines, and the ability to apply them in practice.
- Solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills combined with strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with direction from senior team members.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum or Kanban development methodologies and Azure DevOps or an equivalent tool.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to produce accurate work while managing multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as part of a daily development workflow; a genuine enthusiasm for AI-augmented engineering as a core professional practice.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in healthcare or insurance industry software. Working knowledge of healthcare EDI transactions (837, 835) is a plus.
- Exposure to message queuing or event-driven patterns in enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms.
- Experience with Entity Framework or another ORM in .NET development.
- Interest in or exposure to platform engineering, shared services, or API-first development approaches.
At home requirements:
- A quiet, distraction-free environment to work from in your home.
- A secure internet connection is required.
- Home internet with speeds >20 Mbps for downloads and >10 Mbps for uploads.
- The workspace area accommodates all workstation equipment and related materials and provides adequate surface area to be productive.
