We’re seeking a Software Engineer to help advance our data quality and governance capabilities across the organization. If you’re passionate about building systems that support better data, enjoy collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, and are excited to learn and grow in the data space this role is for you.
Your initial focus will go beyond optimizing tracking and consumption of clickstream data. You’ll contribute to developing scalable tools and frameworks that enable data quality measurement across multiple domains. These tools will help ensure data owners across the company can define and monitor the quality of their datasets while our team supports them in surfacing issues and driving accountability.
You’ll work closely with data owners, their stewards, and cross-functional teams to improve the visibility, trustworthiness, and usability of our data. This work is foundational to improving decision-making and unlocking more value from data across the organization.
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the development of tools that measure and surface data quality signals across multiple domains, helping teams detect anomalies and improve trust in their data.
- Support the implementation of scalable systems that allow data owners and stewards to define, monitor, and take ownership of the quality of their datasets.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including data stewards and domain owners, to operationalize data quality and governance standards across the organization.
- Build integrations and instrumentation that improve transparency into data lineage, integrity, and reliability.
- Participate in engineering rituals such as design reviews, code reviews, and team documentation to promote shared learning and clarity.
- Write maintainable, test-driven code using modern languages and frameworks with guidance and support from senior engineers.
- Engage in continuous learning and bring a growth mindset to working across diverse data problems and technical stacks.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, Master’s degree a plus.
- A software engineer with 3+ years of experience building backend systems or data-centric applications, ideally in environments where data quality, observability, or governance is a focus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow through on technical tasks with some guidance.
- Proficiency in writing reliable, testable code in one or more objected-oriented languages.
- Passion in delivering MVP without sacrificing quality.
- Solid understanding of SQL, data modeling, and working with structured and semi-structured data.
- Experience with Typescript or JavaScript and one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, Kotlin, or a comparable object-oriented language.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP) and interest in building scalable data infrastructure.
- Curiosity about data governance practices eager to learn how data lineage, ownership, and quality can be operationalized across large organizations.
- Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional partners such as data owners, product managers, and analysts to support the adoption of data quality frameworks.
- Inclusive and Competitive medical, Rx, dental, and vision coverage
- Family forming benefits
- 13 Paid Holidays
- Flexible Time Off
- 8 hours of paid Volunteer Time off
- Immediate eligibility into Company 401(k) plan with 3.5% company match
- Tuition Reimbursement program for degreed and non-degreed programs
- 1:1 personalized Financial Planning Sessions
- Student Debt Retirement Savings Match program
- Free snacks and refreshments in each office location
