About This Role:

We are hiring an exceptional web engineer to contribute to our open-source SDKs, component libraries, and template apps for JavaScript, React, and Node.js. You will drive constant improvement and innovation to make LiveKit the most intuitive and powerful platform to deploy realtime and voice AI on any device with a web browser.

What You’ll Do:
  • Core feature development and maintenance of open source WebRTC-based SDKs for JavaScript, Node.js, React, and React Native

  • Work closely with the Agents team to bring realtime AI features to life from Node.js and Python through to the web browser

  • Work with the design team to develop and deploy high-quality sample apps and templates that showcase the power of LiveKit and the potential of realtime AI

  • Constantly refine and improve the developer experience of building realtime AI apps with the LiveKit SDKs

  • Identify, prioritize, design, and develop new features and capabilities for the SDKs in collaboration with other engineers in the Client team and across the company

Who You Are:
  • An expert JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and/or React engineer with significant real-world experience building for the web

  • Passionate about building open source web software that works across browsers, devices, languages, and more

  • Excited to partner with other developers both inside and outside the company to make hard technical problems easy for anyone to solve

  • Bonus: You are a generalist engineer interested in digging in to Python, Rust, Swift, Kotlin, C#, C++, and other languages as you design and deliver new projects
