Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance.

A Software Engineer at Realtor.com® is an autonomous contributor in the team. You solve problems with the help of your teammates, applying technologies with engineering best practices. You work with your team to design and build software that solves consumer and customer problems. You write stable code that a software engineer unfamiliar with the system can understand. You learn to make appropriate trade-offs and re-use where possible. You engage with customers, stakeholders, and peers to deliver exciting features for our customers. You help the team by actively participating in the code review process, design discussions, and team planning.

Three reasons to apply:

  • Your code will matter on day one - You won’t be working on side projects or throwaway features. Your work will ship to products used by real estate agents and consumers across the country.
  • You’ll level up fast with real mentorship - You’ll learn from Staff and Senior Engineers who care about clean code, thoughtful design, and helping you grow - not just closing tickets.
  • You’ll build real systems, not just features - From APIs and backend services to dashboards and lead delivery systems, you’ll work on modern, scalable technology that solves real business problems.

What will you do?

  • Participate in system architecture and design reviews
  • Develop solutions that are of high quality, scalable, and reliable
  • Work collaboratively in squads composed of Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, and Engineers.
  • Investigate and prototype technologies that can be leveraged to introduce innovations
  • Be self-directed, take initiative, and drive towards solutions with guidance

We believe in leveraging the best tools to solve problems faster. You will be expected to utilize AI coding assistants and LLMs proficiently to accelerate development velocity, generate boilerplate, and troubleshoot complex debugging scenarios. Beyond simple usage, this role requires the critical judgment to verify AI-generated outputs for security, performance, and accuracy. You should be comfortable integrating AI tooling into your daily workflow to eliminate repetitive tasks, allowing you to focus on high-impact architectural and strategic engineering challenges.

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in software development
  • Experience in developing scalable systems
  • Experience in software development and a strong willingness to learn the [|http://realtor.com/][+realtor.com+|http://realtor.com] technology stack, including Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, NumPy, Pandas), React, Node.js, and GraphQL
  • Experience working with relational or non-relational databases.
  • Experience with AI, Machine Learning, and AWS knowledge preferred
  • Experience delivering high value to customers quickly, and frequently, with regular feedback and Support
  • Experience evaluating trade-offs between design approaches
  • Software engineering best practices (e.g., testing, code reviews, documentation).
