Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong focus on automation, backend validation, and API testing. In this role, you’ll design test automation frameworks, validate complex systems, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Lead API and backend testing (REST, GraphQL, Postman, Swagger, etc.).
- Develop and execute automated tests using:
- Web Automation: Cypress (JavaScript-based end-to-end testing)
- Mobile Automation: Maestro (YAML-based with embedded JavaScript syntax for logic handling) - Execute manual and automated functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Partner with developers and product managers to identify risks and ensure early defect resolution.
- Contribute to deployment readiness, hotfix verification, and production issue troubleshooting.
- Define and track quality metrics to improve reliability and performance.
- Research, recommend, and implement best practices in test automation and quality engineering.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years’ experience in QA automation, SDET, or backend-focused testing.
- Proven expertise in API and backend testing.
- 1–2 years of experience in mobile automation, ideally with Maestro or comparable tools such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest.
- Comfort writing YAML-based automation scripts with lightweight JavaScript logic.
- Familiarity with mobile build tools (Android Studio, Xcode
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (WebDriverIO, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the SDLC.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to design test scenarios and datasets.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a passion for quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB, AWS, or other relevant certifications.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud environments.
- Experience defining quality KPIs and standards across applications.
