As Software Development Engineer you will be responsible for;
- Design, develop, and maintain robotics software using ROS 2 as the primary framework.
- Build and support full‑stack robotic systems, spanning perception, planning, and integration layers.
- Develop high‑performance robotic applications primarily in Python, with C++ used where performance and system‑level control are required.
- Integrate machine‑learning inference pipelines into robotic systems using technologies such as PyTorch, TensorRT, and JIT compilation.
- Implement and optimize robotics software in a high‑velocity development environment, balancing rapid iteration with system reliability.
- Integrate and support vision sensors within ROS 2 environments, including stereo and RGB‑D camera systems.
- Develop and maintain middleware communication layers as needed, including experience with systems such as LCM.
- Integrate and validate sensor inputs such as IMUs, ensuring accurate state estimation and system performance.
- Support navigation and autonomy features using ROS 2 Nav2 and related tooling.
- Contribute to localization and mapping solutions, including familiarity with or application of visual SLAM (vSLAM) techniques.
- Leverage GPU‑accelerated technologies where appropriate, including CUDA and cuDNN, to optimize perception and inference workloads
Qualifications;
- B.S./B.A. degree in Engineering or another technical field.
- Strong hands‑on experience developing robotics software using ROS 2.
- Proficiency in Python; solid working knowledge of C++ strongly preferred.
- Experience delivering end‑to‑end robotic systems, from perception through execution.
- Practical experience integrating machine‑learning models into real‑time or near‑real‑time robotic systems.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, experimental, and iterative engineering environments
Location: Boston, MA
Salary Range: $100,000 - $170,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
