Role Description: Software Development Co-op - Performance
 
Role Purpose: 

Wasabi Technologies is seeking a motivated Co-op student to join our Engineering team from June 2025 through December 2025. Ideal for candidates currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. 

In this role, you will focus on performance and unit testing. Strong object-oriented design (OOD) and object-oriented programming (OOP) skills are essential. A solid understanding of networking concepts, particularly TCP/IP, is also required. You will work closely with our engineering team to help build and support highly reliable, secure, scalable, and innovative applications for Wasabi’s hot cloud storage services. 

Please note: Students must currently reside in the United States to be eligible for this position.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). 
  • Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP. 
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, C++, Python, or Java. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Able to work under general supervision and follow established engineering processes and best practices. 
  • Some experience with Agile development frameworks and unit testing. 
  • Understanding of data analytics, including statistical analysis and data visualization. 
  • Having exposure to observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus is a plus. 
  • Understanding containerization and virtualization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
