We are currently seeking a Software Developer to support MSA’s Life Sciences Healthcare Data Management initiatives.
Short Description:
In this role, you will assist in the design, development, and maintenance of the MSA healthcare data management platform. A successful candidate must have knowledge and experience with large-scale OLTP from multiple perspectives: database, compute, information, performance, storage, network, process, flow, integration, security and application. This position will provide vision, leadership and strategy as well as actively participate in the design, implementation and subsequent operations.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the direct supervision of Senior Software Developers and Software Engineers to perform maintenance on existing software products
- Develop Transact-SQL procedures and packages
- Develop Microsoft, Pearl, and Unix Shell scripts
- Participate in all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
- Provide regular operations support of clients via email communications
- Design, Develop and Implement technical solutions based on business requirements
- Design and coding of new and existing applications and components
- Participate in code reviews
- Perform unit testing and integration testing
- Perform day to day troubleshooting of issues relating to QA and Production
- Write technical documents as part of methodology established within the department
- Write programs according to specifications of higher level staff
- Work closely on a team of Analysts, Developers, Q/A, and documentation personnel
- Contribute to software development process standards
Required Skills:
- Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum six months of programming experience
- Knowledge and experience of all aspects of the software development process
- Fluent in Object Oriented analysis/development including related documentation methods.
- Experience with Unix and Oracle desired
- Advanced technical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to function within a team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
