About the Role

We're looking for a YouTube Scriptwriter who can write high-quality talking-head scripts meant to target a broad audience and get significant views.

This is a remote freelance role, paid on a per-script basis with the expectation of consistently writing 10 scripts per month.

You'll be writing directly for the CEO of CourseCareers to help him build his personal brand with the core message being "How to be successful without college."

Example video titles include:

How NOT Going To College Made Me $2,000,000 at 23

Get RICH in Your 20’s: DON’T Go To College

Why Going To College Keeps You POOR

What You’ll Do
  • Create highly engaging scripts that will maintain retention and embed CTAs that will drive action

  • Write 10 talking-head scripts per month

  • Most videos will be 7-15 minutes long

  • All talking points and research will be provided, with most scripts being slight variations of past scripts, making them much quicker to create

  • All titles will be provided

What You'll Need
  • Deep understanding of the YouTube platform

  • Past experience writing YouTube scripts is helpful, but not required

  • Strong desire to learn how to become an expert YouTube script writer

Compensation
  • $100 - $150 per script

  • Commission on 10% of all gross revenue driven from videos. (This will likely be much more significant than the per-script compensation as we've had past videos generate over $100,000 each.)

PS: If you see multiple job listings with different titles. Please only apply to one.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
