Social Media Intern

Location: Fully Remote, USA

Job Overview:

The Social Media Intern will support the ExploreLearning Social Media Team with content ideation, post creation & scheduling, light graphic design work, and social media calendar management. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, interested in social media marketing, and possesses a growth mindset. The time commitment is approximately 10 hours a week, with a flexible remote schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Post Creation:

    • Schedule and plan social media posts for multiple social media platforms utilizing Sprout Social.

    • Write engaging captions while utilizing hashtags and UTMs.

    • Utilize Canva templates to create social media graphics for multiple channels.

  • Marketing Research:

    • Perform research to identify new social media opportunities and build content plans.

    • Other research projects including competitor or best practice research as assigned.

  • Reviewing Sprout Social Calendar.

  • Review the Sprout Social social media calendar to ensure posts are going out correctly and on time.

  • Collaborating with Social Media & Design Teams.

    • Collaborate on social media strategy ideas with the social media team to ensure posts are relevant, timely, and aligned with our brand.

    • Collaborate with our design team as needed to ensure posts are within our branding.

  • Weekly Planning Meetings.

    • Attend two weekly meetings to cover content planning, training, and social media strategy with the social media team.

    • Opportunity to join other team meetings based on marketing interests.

Job Skills and Attributes:

  • Exceptional communication skills, writing, speaking, listening.

  • Proven project management skills.

  • Self-motivated with problem-solving capabilities.

  • Inventive and creative skills.

  • Interest or experience in digital marketing and social media platforms.

  • Interest or experience in Canva or other graphic design platforms.

Job Requirements:

  • Completing coursework toward a BA/BS in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms.

  • Possess a growth mindset, and a willingness to learn and be mentored.

  • Must be able to commit to 10 hours a week, with a flexible remote schedule.
