Salary Range

$100,430 - $133,050

Position OverviewAs a Slotting Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing slotting operations within your assigned region within C&S. Working closely with the Director of Slotting Operations, Analytics Manager, and the Distribution Operations leadership for your region, you will be responsible for efficiently assigning products to warehouse locations, optimizing productivity, cost efficiency, and safety. You will ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, packaging specifications, pallet construction guidelines, and projected volume. You will collaborate with senior warehouse operations leadership, including the Senior Vice President, Vice Presidents, and Directors of Distribution Operations for your respective region, to align slotting operations with regional business strategies and objectives. Additionally, you will coordinate and lead hourly slotting associates, who have a dotted line reporting structure to the Director of Distribution Operations for their building. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

Job Description

Location: Stockton, CA

  • Operational Management:Oversee slotting operations within your assigned region, ensuring efficient allocation of products.Develop and implement slotting strategies to maximize productivity, minimize costs, and uphold food safety standards.Collaborate with the Director of Slotting Operations and the Analytics Manager to leverage data-driven insights and optimize slotting operations.Optimize slotting plans based on data analysis, considering product demand, packaging type, pallet construction, and projected volume.
  • Team Leadership and Development:Lead a team of slotting associates, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.Partner with the Analytics Manager to leverage analytics capabilities and insights to support slotting optimization efforts.Collaborate with the Senior Vice Presidents (SVPs) and Vice Presidents (VPs) of Distribution Operations for your respective region to ensure alignment between slotting operations and regional business objectives.Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide opportunities for skill development and training.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Integration of New Business Items:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Network Optimization, Corporate Development, Project Management, and Operations, to integrate new business items into warehouse operations.Evaluate unique item requirements and coordinate with the Slotting team and Analytics Manager to incorporate them effectively into slotting plans.Communicate and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth integration and minimal disruption during changes.
  • Facility Adaptation:Contribute to the evaluation and adaptation of warehouse layouts to accommodate changes in business requirements or operational efficiency goals.Collaborate with the Director of Slotting Operations, Analytics Manager, local slotting associates, Network Optimization and Facilities teams to implement layout modifications and improvements.Ensure seamless transitions during facility expansions, relocations, or significant changes, minimizing operational disruptions.

Skills

  • Specialized Knowledge : Analyzing and understanding of complex distribution centers, reading and dissecting facility CAD drawings, development of facility design concepts, project management, compiling and presenting professional materials for executive review.
  • Special Skills : Advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Data Mining, and intermediate to advanced SQL query development and/or other relevant applications experience. Good decision-making and problem solving skills with the ability to work through situational issues at the strategic and tactical levels; coaching the team along the way.
  • Physical abilities: : Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time in a Warehouse environment at various temperature ranges (ambient, 100F, down to freezer at -20F.) with some occasional moderate-weight lifting.
  • Other: : Experience working in union and non-union environments and experience with EXE WMS a plus
  • : Hours may vary week to week as needed to support the business including potentially working weekends or night shift
  • : Understanding of complex distribution center operations including interrelation between slotting efficiency and labor standards
  • Education requirements : Analytics, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering
  • Travel Requirements: : Regularly traveling between sites within your region for support. Estimated at 50% but will vary based on building needs. Some national travel may be required.

Years Of Experience

  • 5-7 : Experience in slotting operations within a complex distribution environment, preferably in the grocery or food industry.
  • 2-5 : Managing and developing teams
