This role requires a unique blend of collaboration across business segments, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of secure development environments and Department of Defense security requirements. You will be responsible for facilitating a cross-functional team of engineering, design, and marketing experts to deliver a platform that enhances development efficiency, operational security, and innovation in mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute team product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for implementation of a cohesive architecture and integration of development tools
  • Work closely with a Product Designer to architect and design an intuitive platform that meets the unique needs of military personnel and contractors
  • Prioritize and manage the product roadmap, balancing customer, business, and technical priorities while synthesizing external customer requests into actionable features and backlogs
  • Measure and assess the impact of product solutions through key performance indicators (KPIs), including adoption rates, user engagement metrics, and development efficiency improvements
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to secure development environments and Department of Defense software development requirements, ensuring our platform meets evolving needs and compliance standards
  • Present product updates and strategic insights in customer-facing engagements, ensuring clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, remote working environment, demonstrating high levels of discipline, self-motivation, and adaptability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enough technical breadth to work with engineering and design to trade off roadmap versus engineering effort needed

The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the evolving needs of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is able to adapt and take on new responsibilities as they arise.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience in the DoD software ecosystem, to include organizations such as Platform One, Kessel Run, Army Software Factory, Space CAMP, Kobayashi Maru, NavalX, BESPIN, LevelUP, etc
  • Within 180 days of separation from service
  • Experience establishing a product roadmap with themes, a team charter, measurable outcomes in the form of OKRs/KPIs to track success, design docs
  • Experience leading products from ideation to operations, with a preference on secure development environments or internal developer platforms
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and thrive in a remote work setup
  • Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in developer platform development, such as supply chain security, open source development, and internal developer platforms.

Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact in shaping the future of our platform offering for the national security sector. If you're passionate about leveraging technology to drive positive change and thrive in a challenging, collaborative environment, we invite you to apply and join our team.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
