Job Description SummaryThe On-Site Service Specialist will have technical knowledge and experience working with GE/Alstom turbines. He/she is responsible for the on-site maintenance of major rotating equipment components. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of preventive torques on filters, lubrication as parts of air filters and cleaning, oil level control and liquid sensors, calibration of turbine inductive filters
- Corrective maintenance of steam turbines: replace electronic boards, electrical reducers, inductive sensors, temperature sensors, capacitors, diodes, coupler sources, sensors, encoders, adjust inductive, software, calibrator, motor system
- Realization of internal and external components in steam turbines
- Investigate reported problems and identify/analyze any undesirable trends, made problems for findings
- Analyze data, fetched, tabular data and rationalize working methods
- Ensuring customer satisfaction according to the customer's maintenance, deadline, performance and quality solutions by the area
- Review a maintenance action plan for the purpose of training needs
- Act according to the processes, and procedures of occurrence of occurrences, occurred
- Follow the guidelines and comply with customer procedures, according to the designated action, participating in local operational activities for the execution of internal activities
- Responsible for the correct, maintenance, maintenance and optimization of the company's assets, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Comply with instruction and compliance guidelines, as well as company EHS standards and procedures
- Frequently climbing and descending wind turbines (metallic or concrete structures): all work on steam turbines is carried out at ground level and at approximately 80 meters high.
Required Qualifications:
- Red Seal Certification, Diploma or certificate in Electromechanics, Mechanics, or Mechatronics issued by an educational institution recognized by the Ministry of Education.
- Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Technician.
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in fitting and turning of Steam Turbines.
- Knowledge of the office package (Excel, Word, Power Point, Internet).
- Valid National Driver's License (B).
- Willingness and ability to travel for work globally on short notice and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in Alstom or GE turbine turbomachinery
- Initiative, teamwork, concentration and good communication.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Valid passport.
- Permitted to work in all power plants in South Africa.
