Broad Roles and Responsibilities
- Execution of Site backlog including punch point with in the framework of SQDC , handover of the plant to customer and develop & deploy site exit strategy for successful project close out.
- Support actively Return of Experience from Site in coordination with relevant stakeholders such as Project team, Site team, Quality , EHS.
- Ensure non-conformance costs are properly managed on construction sites and provide reporting.
- Implement continuous improvement (8D, 5Why,…) initiative within Site Management & Erection activities.
- Follow up project execution. Support and organize quarterly project reviews with PCCM.
- Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other Construction and Commissioning Sub Functions.
- Review Site organization and subcontractor performance during regular site visits.
- Ensure Safety requirements are implemented as identified in GE processes.
- Ensure regular participation in KPI and other project related reviews to provide update.
- •Lead by example in terms of enthusiasm commitment and work ethics in the performance of / duties as a site manager.
Encourage the team to drive continuous improvements and lean construction methodologies through out the project. Manage and implement the construction plans, programs, resource plans and P & M.
Establish/ Manage a site organization in cooperation with PCCM, In accordance with the Construction Execution Plan and Commissioning Execution Plan for managing all site aspects of the project.
• Employ local site staff in conjunction with local GE organization employment procedures and develop the organization site infrastructure (site offices, material handling through out the project tenure, lay down areas, logistics, accommodation, etc.).
• Ensure for site safety / quality / productivity and performance of the project.
• Establish site regulations and site operating rules.
• Establishment and monitoring of site security.
• Resolve site operational problems as required. (lack of productivity, work interfaces etc.)
• Set up a transparent site accounting system and establish the site financial forecast in collaboration with PCCM. Approve expenditures within limits of authority, maintain accurate accounting records, and review the site budget versus actual cost and forecast to complete (Cost to complete) at least on monthly basis.
• overall responsible for scheduling / coordination at site / tracking and monitoring of progress (Plan Vs Actual), Manhours worked and man hour cost.
• Lead and coordinate site related financial reporting (Revenue, Margin, Cash in and Cash out) in coordination with the PCCM and the Project Controller.
• Maintain the site portion of the Project schedule covering construction and commissioning activities. Follow up site works, verify progress and report on schedule progress as per the established reporting cycles.
• Planning at Microlevel through preparation of L3 / L4 level schedules , for easy monitoring of all packages in the project .
• communicate openly and effectively: Coordinate and produce the construction and commissioning input to the Monthly Progress report in a timely manner. Issue the Daily, weekly site report to inform the Project Team and functional department about progress, issues and other
relevant site matters as applicable.
• Organize and participate in work-based team activities.
• Implementation and management of daily weather and rainfall records.
• Review / verify and approval of all sub-contractor progressive bills.
Ensure Safe Transport of Materials on site and ensure proper material stagging as per method statement.
• Ensure proper storage of material in designated locations and all packing lists to be maintained.
• Monitor and manage subcontractor performance up to project close out, including warranty obligations, to drive fulfillment of subcontractor commitments, achieve proactive risk and opportunity management, provide accurate representation of status, and address non-conformance issues with corrective strategies. Keep functional management and the Project Team informed of status, performance implications and recommended actions.
• Conduct and represent meetings internally and externally with all stakeholders on behalf of GE as needed and authorized.
• Manage/ motivate and encourage the team responsible for site operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in EPC project execution.
- Proven track record of delivering complex industrial/power/energy projects within cost, time, and quality benchmarks.
