This role will focus on leveraging machine learning, automation, and generative AI to optimize SEO processes at scale. While prior SEO experience is not required, the ideal candidate must be eager to learn SEO principles and collaborate closely with our SEO team to drive innovation.

- Design and build AI-powered tools to automate SEO analysis, content generation, and workflow optimization.
- Develop machine learning models to enhance keyword research, content recommendations, and ranking predictions.
- Implement AI-driven automation for technical SEO audits, internal linking optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Design and deploy autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents to execute multi-step SEO tasks such as content evaluation, data enrichment, and competitive analysis.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to generate insights that improve search visibility and user engagement.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to understand search engine ranking factors and apply AI-driven enhancements.
- Integrate generative AI (LLMs, embeddings, vector search) to scale content creation and optimization.
- Partner with data engineers and developers to integrate AI capabilities into Chewy's website infrastructure.
- Stay up to date on advancements in AI, machine learning, and search engine algorithms to maintain a cutting-edge approach.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of total engineering experience, including software development, data science, or AI engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience specifically in AI engineering, machine learning, or data science.
- Experience developing or deploying AI agents (e.g., LangChain agents, AutoGPT, crewAI) to automate workflows and connect across tools, APIs, or data sources.
- Direct experience working with ChatGPT (OpenAI), Perplexity, and Google's AI solutions (Gemini, Bard, Vertex AI, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and AI-related frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, OpenAI APIs).
- Experience with automation, web scraping, and data pipeline development.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Willingness to learn SEO principles and collaborate with SEO specialists to drive AI-powered optimizations.
- Experience in eCommerce or large-scale data applications is a plus.
