OVERVIEW:

The SEO Specialist oversees the development, strategy and execution of key initiatives to optimize natural search performance across the DSG family of websites. The Specialist works cross-functionally with the Category Merchandising, Production and Marketing Teams to develop content and write customer-facing copy to support day-to-day optimizations and broader company campaigns. As the primary authority of eCommerce web copy, they ensure that tone and voice remain consistent and reflect brand guidelines. They have a good understanding of the business and user intent in order to strategically plan a long-term vision for site wide content. The SEO Specialist is also responsible for partnering with internal teams and external vendors to implement SEO strategies to drive Natural Search traffic to DICK’S Sporting Goods web properties. They will work alongside the SEO Analyst to implement organic marketing techniques & analyze the website for improvements. In addition to on-page optimizations, she/he will manage SEO projects during the year ranging from local search, project management, category audits and more.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researches, benchmarks results and supports business-wide campaigns, initiatives and special events.

  • Reacts to product trends in our constantly evolving industry, leveraging this information to create and manage a content calendar.

  • Writes copy for various digital materials including Web page copy and long form copy.

  • Analyzes web and business metrics from multiple sources, using data to develop customer-facing strategies and ensure performance is on track.

  • Creates & analyzes reporting to strategize next-steps based on results of data.

  • Responsible for identifying traffic-driving keywords, tracking keyword rankings across multiple divisions & will work in multiple SEO tools to monitor search engine fluctuations.

  • Serves as subject matter expert for the Natural Search channel across assigned divisions.

  • Works with cross-functional teams to communicate SEO best-practices and strategies.

  • Supports the SEO analyst in managing the lifecycle of multiple SEO projects throughout the year, ensuring tasks are on track, and driving from start to finish.

  • Definitive authority on style guide questions from Content Specialists, Production and Marketing.

  • Proofs work and executes changes to ensure accuracy and adherence to all style standards.

  • Assists in the technical integration of customer-facing content and creative. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism preferred

  • 1 - 3 Years' experience with a minimum 2 years previous editorial experience in advertising/marketing

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Macintosh

Targeted Pay Range: $47,300.00 - $78,900.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
