We’re looking for a Senior CMS Engineer to support one of our clients in the development and maintenance of multiple high-traffic websites. This is a part-time role (approx. 50%) with a commitment until the end of the year, and a possible extension.
You’ll work on custom WordPress solutions, contribute to a component-driven architecture, and collaborate with a small, experienced engineering team. The ideal candidate is an independent problem-solver with strong experience in PHP, WordPress, React, and system design.

Salary rate: up to 38EUR/h
Engagement: approx. 20 hours/week (flexible setup possible)

Duration: Until end of year, with potential extension
Interview process: Short tech screening + client interview
- Develop and maintain scalable, custom WordPress websites
 - Refactor legacy codebases and simplify architecture
 - Contribute to a shared theme system used across multiple platforms
 - Implement component-based UI and design systems
 - Follow best practices for accessibility (WCAG 2.1), code quality, and performance
 - Work with enterprise-level tools such as VIP CLI and adhere to WordPress coding standards
 - Manage tasks independently with minimal oversight
 - Handle multiple projects in parallel with a focus on quality and maintainability
 
RequirementsMust-Have Requirements:
- Advanced PHP development skills
 - Proven experience in custom WordPress development (beyond plugin/theme configuration)
 - Strong skills in React and system architecture/design
 - Background in complex technical environments
 - Ability to work independently and proactively
 - Familiarity with large-scale WordPress environments (VIP platform, scalability, performance)
 
- Experience with Twig, Timber, Tailwind, Sass
 - Automated testing and CI/CD workflows
 - Familiarity with WP CLI and enterprise WordPress workflows
 - Awareness of security and DevOps practices
 - Component-driven development experience
