About PayZen

PayZen is on a mission to bring financial health to healthcare. Our products improve both access and affordability for patients and cash flow & administrative complexity for medical providers. We are trusted by a rapidly growing number of health systems, hospitals, and physician groups and are backed by leading venture capital investors, including NEA, SignalFire, Viola Group, and 7Wire Ventures.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented SVP, Health System Partnerships, to lead our full sales lifecycle. You will build a durable, executive-level provider revenue engine. Your mandate is to win net-new health systems, deepen executive relationships, and establish PayZen as an indispensable strategic partner.

You will lead and coach the team that develops a highly concentrated market. We are looking for team members who are passionate about contributing to the growth of a product that’s improving access to healthcare for all Americans.

In this role, you will report to the CCO, collaborating closely with Product, Partnerships, Engineering, and RevOps.

This is a remote role. We're open to candidates based in the U.S. The position requires significant travel to health systems and industry events, as well as regular time with the team in the Bay Area.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization poised for significant growth.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of enterprise sellers and leaders. Coach sellers in their deals, hold the team accountable to clear standards, and manage performance firmly. Continuously evolve organizational design and territory coverage as PayZen scales.

  • Enterprise Growth & Expansion: Own the commercial lifecycle across target health systems. Drive net-new account acquisition and build a repeatable expansion motion to cross-sell and upsell new offerings like financial assistance automation and the Care Card.

  • Sales Operating System: Implement a rigorous, world-class enterprise sales operating system. Enforce clear stage definitions, deal inspection, close planning, and highly accurate forecasting. Instill the discipline that makes the team's sales process repeatable.

  • Territory Development: Lead the team in systematically developing each territory across a highly concentrated market. Build account plans and executive maps, and make sure sellers build lasting relationships with the decision makers in every account.

  • Executive Engagement: Act as the senior, credible counterpart to health system CFOs and RCM leaders. Own critical financial conversations regarding yield, MDR, recourse vs. non-recourse, and balance-sheet implications.

  • Account Ownership: Design and run the coverage model for live partners. Make sellers quota-accountable from the first meeting through renewal, and institutionalize strategic relationship coverage via executive mapping and QBRs.

  • Cross-Functional Integration: Build a tight customer-to-product intelligence loop with Product and Engineering. Establish seamless handoffs with Provider Value Delivery and run the channel-sales overlay alongside Partnerships/BD.

Requirements
  • World-Class Enterprise Sales Experience: Experience in a world-class enterprise sales organization is critical. You have sold and led teams in a concentrated market of large accounts, with deal sizes of $3M to $30M+ ACV.

  • Enterprise Sales Leadership: Proven hunting motion track record. Deep experience opening and closing new enterprise accounts, managing multi-stakeholder buying committees, and navigating IT, security, and Epic integration reviews.

  • Operational Rigor: A strict operational leader who runs a tight ship. Treats territory planning, pipeline coverage, and forecasting as repeatable processes rather than heroic efforts.

  • People Management: A proven player-coach who has built, not just inherited, teams. Coaches sellers deal by deal and holds the team accountable to clear standards. Identifies exceptional talent, manages performance fairly, and develops leaders who can execute complex deals independently.

  • Expansion Expertise: Strong background executing a land-and-expand motion. Experienced in holding sellers accountable for the ongoing success and growth of the accounts they win.

  • Ecosystem Navigation: Savvy operating in a partner-heavy ecosystem. Capable of successfully selling alongside end-to-end revenue cycle vendors without creating channel conflict.
