Our Opportunity:

Chewy’s mission is to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents everywhere. You would be collecting and understanding the needs of pet parents and their pet health care partners. By listening closely to their experiences, they help identify gaps and drive innovations that improve our services and products.

We are looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our teams in Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA offices. In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing Chewy’s veterinary medicine initiatives, focusing on the software for our Chewy Vet Care practices and tools that support veterinary professionals. Your compassion for pets and those who care for them will drive your efforts to improve their well-being. You will collaborate daily with designers, UXR program managers, engineers, and product managers who share a deep passion for pets and their parents. You are eager to uncover new opportunities, impact pet health, and craft the future of User Experience Research at Chewy.

Join our dynamic and fun-loving team of designers, researchers, and builders who are dedicated to making a difference.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and conduct research to address difficult and unclear user needs in emerging or evolving areas.
  • Evaluate design solutions for existing concepts that require further exploration or understanding.
  • Clearly link your research findings to broader business objectives and goals.
  • Collaborate across teams to build consensus and guide efforts in bridging knowledge gaps.
  • Identify and champion crucial customer needs and business opportunities to ensure the customer remains at the center.
  • Plan, estimate, and perform intricate research projects with precision and care.
  • Independently prioritize tasks and demands from various collaborators.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX researcher or in a similar role.
  • Delivering high-quality research that has driven relevant results, with case studies showcasing your expertise.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present sophisticated user needs to influence product design.
  • Assessing the impact of your research on both customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, user research, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Role requires in-office presence at the local office.
  • Occasional travel to Chewy Vet Care (CVC) Clinic locations across the U.S. is expected.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with B2B, enterprise, or internal software.
  • Familiarity with health care software.
  • Background in service design.
  • Experience recruiting hard to reach research participants.

Hub Locations & Work Arrangement:

  • Locations: Bellevue, WA | Boston, MA
  • Hybrid Model: 2+ days in hub location per week
  • Remote: This role is NOT a remote role.
