Senior UX Designer (2 Month Contract Position) – Plano, TX

Want a seat at our table?  The Sr. UX Designer will work in a cross-functional team dedicated to the Ziosk Customer Experience and Reputation Manager (CXRM) UX. As an advocate for user experience within the company, this role will cultivate an environment of creativity and collaboration across disciplines and create experiences for restaurant guests, operations and management.


This role participates in user research and strategy, information architecture, and interaction design to create superb user experiences. They understand the business requirements of all key stakeholders then translate those requirements into experiences that result in guest engagement. They must have the ability to bring order to complexity along with excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.

The Main Course – Responsibilities


  • Conceptualize and Create UX/UI design for the Ziosk CXRM product
  • Play a hands-on role in the production and delivery of user research, persona creation, customer journey mapping, card sorting, usability testing,
  • Create wireframing, prototyping, mobile/tablet design, user-centric design & interaction design.
  • Perform or utilize qualitative and quantitative research to create compelling online experiences that generate business results
  • Attend customer meetings to establish requirements, analysis and competitive research.
  • Create prototypes that illustrate proposed navigation design and information hierarchy
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Design visually compelling and impactful user interface layouts based on Ziosk product aesthetic and/or partner brands/companies (using primarily Figma but also Photoshop, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other software)
  • Knowledge and interest in modern design aesthetics, software, and techniques
  • Understanding of motion in user experience and ability to share motion graphics, transitions, and supporting animations

What You Bring to the Table – Qualifications


  • Outstanding online portfolio and case studies of UX/UI solutions. Your portfolio should show ideation, concept development, and process as well as any success metrics
  • 6+ years of dedicated UX experience in web and/or mobile environment, computer interaction or other related field
  • Strong background developing consumer facing mobile / tablet applications
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, including demonstrable practical experience of all aspects of user centered design and heuristics using standard industry tools
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices and ability to implement them
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Figma, Sketch, or other software
  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred in design-related discipline: Interaction, Information or Interface design; Human-Computer Interaction; Design Planning; Graphic Design
