Who We Are

We exist to unlock human potential.
Too often, AI drains it—drains budgets, drains energy resources, drains ownership of data. OpenTeams was founded to change that. We build AI that empowers. Our models are energy-efficient, cost-effective, and fully yours.

Our ethos is open source. That means freedom, trust, and accountability are built into every line of code. We reinvest 3% of our profits back into the open-source community, because we believe tech is most powerful when it serves everyone.
At our core, we value freedom, teamwork, accountability, and uncompromising quality. If you want to fight Goliath, and shape tools that set people free, OpenTeams is the place to do it.

Location: Remote (U.S. – Central Time Zone Friendly)
Duration: 4-Month Contract | Potential to Convert to Full-Time | $50 - $55/hr.
Target Start: January 2026

OpenTeams is seeking a Senior Technical Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team of industry-leading recruiting professionals. This role will serve as a 4-month contract covering a team member’s maternity leave, with strong potential for a full-time hire based on performance and organizational needs.

We’re a distributed team headquartered in Austin, TX, driven by innovation and collaboration. If you’re a motivated, detail-oriented recruiter who thrives in fast-paced technical environments, we’d love to meet you.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience — both agency and in-house preferred.
  • 3+ years recruiting for technical roles (ideally within the open-source software or engineering ecosystem).
  • Proven ability to partner directly with C-level leadership as a strategic advisor.
  • Strong record of success in fast-paced, high-growth environments; calm under pressure and results-oriented.
  • A player-coach mindset - collaborative, supportive, and eager to help others succeed.
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities with ease.
  • Skilled in sourcing and building pipelines through creative, multi-channel outreach strategies.
What You’ll Do
  • Own and manage senior-level technical and leadership requisitions, driving full-cycle recruiting from intake to offer.
  • Partner with company leadership to strategically expand the senior and leadership talent base.
  • Build and strengthen OpenTeams’ employer brand within the open-source community; nurture relationships with key contributors and partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the recruiting team to share best practices, mentor junior recruiters, and ensure an engaging, high-performing culture.
  • Support hiring manager enablement through interview training and process improvements focused on quality and efficiency.
  • Create and analyze recruiting metrics and reports to identify opportunities for process improvements and scalability.
  • Collaborate on talent development programs to identify and grow high-potential candidates internally.
Why Join OpenTeams

At OpenTeams, we’re passionate about connecting exceptional talent to transformative work in open-source and AI. You’ll join a mission-driven, collaborative team where your voice matters, and your impact is tangible.

How we evaluate your candidacy

Our interviews will not only give us insight into your skill set but give you insight into our company.

  • Preliminary Interview - 30 minutes: You will speak with our recruiter about your background and what you are looking for in your next role. We want to know why you are interested in joining us and what questions you have about the team. The goal of this interview is to gain a high-level understanding of your background, experience, and needs/wants for a new role.
  • Phone Interview - 45 minutes: In this interview, you will speak to the hiring manager. There will be a deeper focus on your experience, and a mix of behavior and skill set questions that align with the direct role.
  • Virtual Onsite - 1.5 hours: You'll have the opportunity to meet folks from our talent acquisition team in a panel interview for 45 minutes about team dynamics and cultural fit.  You will also meet with our CHRO, to chat about your background, what you’ve learned, and why you’d like to work with us.
  • Final Discussion/Offer- 15 minutes: We try our best to give you a decision within 48 hours of each interview, regardless of whether we are moving forward or passing on your candidacy. We will present our offer and provide additional context about the growth trajectory and overall benefits package.
  • Start Date: Given our early stage, we would like all of our new hires to start within 4 weeks of acceptance.

Grow With Us

At OpenTeams, growth isn’t just about the company—it’s about you.
We believe the best careers are built at the edge of your potential. That is where new tools, ideas, and technologies change the world. Here, you’ll work alongside pioneers of AI, solving problems that matter: making AI more transparent, more ethical, and more empowering.

Opportunities aren’t limited by geography. You’ll collaborate with global experts, contribute to open source projects that power the world’s technology, and stretch your skills daily.
We invest  in curiosity, creativity, and ownership. That means you’ll be trusted to take big swings, supported to learn fast, and celebrated for bold thinking.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
