Job Description

GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage is focused on bringing together technologies and expertise to help solve the toughest power system challenges, accelerating the global transition to a more resilient and reliable grid.

We are seeking a technically skilled Technical Sales professional to drive our Business Development initiatives across the SEMEA region, with particular focus on providing advanced technical support in Italy. This role bridges deep technical expertise in power stability and grid utilities—including hybrid solutions such as Synchro Condensers, STATCOM, and Battery systems—with proactive customer engagement to promote our cutting-edge solutions effectively.

Working closely with Business Developers, you will play a key role in early-stage customer interactions, helping identify and define customer needs with precision. Additionally, you will collaborate with our Application Engineers team to tailor the technical solutions offered during the quotation process, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The Senior Technical Sales Manager will report to the Sales Leader of the Power Stability & Grid Utilities segment.

Location: Italy or at any GEV Italian site locations (Florence, Milan, Sesto San Giovanni, Noventa di Piave) / Flexible / Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement & Support
    • Collaborate closely with Business Developers in customer meetings to present and promote our Power Stability, Grid Utilities, and Flexibility solutions, with a special emphasis on hybrid solutions (Synchro Condensers, STATCOM, Battery systems).
    • - Provide dedicated, on-the-ground technical support for customers in Italy, ensuring responsiveness to regional requirements and challenges.
    • - Use your technical knowledge to understand, analyze, and clarify customer requirements and challenges.
    • - Guide customers in defining their needs accurately to ensure alignment with our solution capabilities.
  • Technical Solution Design Support
    • Support Application Engineers by providing in-depth technical insights during the proposal and quotation phases, particularly in hybrid solution development.
    • Assist in shaping customized technical solutions—including Synchro Condensers, STATCOM, and Battery systems— that meet customer expectations and project requirements.
    • Ensure solutions comply with both regional standards and customer-specific needs, especially for projects within Italy.
  • Market & Product Advocacy
    • Stay updated on grid stability, power electronics, and rotating machinery trends in the SEMEA region.
    • Represent our technical expertise in industry events, workshops, and seminars alongside the sales team.
    • Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to align solution roadmaps with market demands.
  • Safety, Quality & Customer Satisfaction
    • Ensure all interactions and technical recommendations prioritize safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
    • Provide feedback from the field to internal teams for continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile :

Education & Technical Expertise :

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong technical knowledge of :
    • Rotating machines (generators, motors)
    • Power electronics (inverters, converters)
    • Grid systems and power stability solutions
    • Hybrid solutions: Synchro Condensers, STATCOM, and Battery systems
    • Flexibility solutions for grid applications

Professional Skills :

  • Proven experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or customer support roles within the energy, grid, or power equipment sectors.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with Business Developers and Application Engineers.
  • Fluent in Italian & English; knowledge of additional languages relevant to SEMEA (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic) is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel within the SEMEA region as needed.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction principles.
