At Render, we're dedicated to building a powerful and user-friendly cloud that simplifies hosting for every developer and team. Our platform supports a wide range of applications, from simple static sites to complex multi-service architectures. By offering the flexibility of traditional cloud providers without their associated complexity and maintenance challenges, we enable our users to concentrate on product development instead of managing servers.

Our team is a diverse and talented group addressing universal challenges of software development. We prioritize rapid iteration while maintaining a strong focus on user experience, craft, and reliability. This commitment drives us to improve continually. Our organic, product-led growth has attracted over 2.5 million developers, with rapid growth of new developers signing up every month. Our customers trust Render for our reliable and scalable cloud with enterprise-grade capabilities, fully managed datastores, and advanced security and compliance features.

In January 2025, we reached a significant milestone by raising $80 million in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $157M. This investment enables us to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive, while catering to the evolving needs of the AI era.

Applying to Render:

We’re looking for candidates with integrity, humility, and a strong drive to learn. We prioritize reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, aiming to improve both individually and collectively. At Render, we cultivate an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and our team.

Our interview process is tailored to each role, and we value the candidate experience as much as we value the customer experience. We strive to ensure that your time with us is thoughtful, illuminating, and enjoyable.

About the Role:

As a Senior Technical Recruiter at Render, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our organization by attracting and hiring top-tier technical talent. Your impact will extend across the company as you build and refine the hiring engine, ensuring we bring in strong, diverse, and mission-driven individuals who align with our values and growth ambitions. You’ll work collaboratively with teams, guide hiring managers, and provide strategic leadership to meet our ambitious hiring goals. You’ll also have the opportunity to enhance our hiring philosophy, ensuring it remains innovative, effective, and aligned with our values.

We’ve built processes that reflect our values, especially “Raise the Quality Bar,” “Reason Clearly, Execute Quickly,” and “Take the Long View.” We see an opportunity to evolve our hiring philosophy to meet ambitious growth targets and distinguish Render’s hiring efforts within the tech community. We're looking for someone to help make this happen!

You Will:

  • Build a deep understanding of our business, culture, and hiring needs to provide strategic recruitment support across teams.

  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to offer and close, ensuring a seamless and inclusive experience for candidates and stakeholders.

  • Partner with hiring managers to define job descriptions, candidate requirements, and develop structured interview processes.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring teams, offering insights, best practices, and data-driven recommendations to improve hiring outcomes.

  • Manage executive relationships and provide proactive hiring solutions that align with business goals.

  • Own sourcing strategies for passive talent pipelines in product and engineering domains.

  • Mentor and guide hiring teams on best practices for interviewing, candidate assessment, and decision-making.

  • Design, implement, and optimize recruitment programs to enhance efficiency, scalability, and the candidate experience.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 7+ years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience, particularly in Engineering and Product roles within early-stage, high-growth tech companies.

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to use recruiting metrics to inform strategies.

  • Proven ability to solve complex hiring challenges, facilitate decision-making, and coach teams.

  • Experience managing high-impact roles while maintaining effective organization and stakeholder management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

  • Strong negotiation skills and in-depth knowledge of the talent market.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.

  • Experience fostering trust-based relationships with candidates.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Extensive knowledge and proven success in technical hiring landscapes, especially in product and engineering roles.

  • A solutions-oriented mindset with examples of driving innovative recruiting strategies.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with examples of influencing outcomes and forming trusted partnerships.

  • A commitment to building inclusive and diverse teams.

  • Experience conducting market research and competitive intelligence to guide recruiting initiatives.

  • Comfortably operating in gray areas, using data and intuition to navigate ambiguity, and proactively driving the business towards clarity by refining and aligning hiring strategies with team and business goals.

  • Ideally located in the Bay Area, with ability to work from SFHQ 1-2x days per week. This is not a hard requirement.

Benefits:

  • Our openings span more than one career level. The starting salary for this contract role is between $150,000-200,000 USD, with the opportunity to convert based on performance. The provided salary depends on many factors, such as work experience and transferable skills, business needs and impact, and market demands.

  • The opportunity is also eligible for equity with early exercise options and extended exercise windows.

  • 4 weeks of paid vacation, available from day one.

  • 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return.

  • Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans.

  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs available as well.

  • Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental heath and therapy, hobbies, etc.

  • Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy.

  • Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders.

  • Continuous learning benefits & related support.

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
