Lead and manage strategic customer programs for Instrumental's AI-powered manufacturing solutions. Build relationships, coordinate teams, and drive value while working directly with customers in electronics manufacturing environments across APAC.
Manufacturing advanced electronics requires understanding millions of signals generated across complex assembly processes. Instrumental builds systems that capture and analyze those signals — images, test results, and process data — enabling engineers to discover failures, identify root causes, and deploy production controls that improve yield and product maturity. Leading companies such as NVIDIA, Cisco, and Meta rely on Instrumental to accelerate new product development and scale manufacturing across global factories. Instrumental has become mission-critical for manufacturers building and scaling the next generation of AI infrastructure hardware.
Instrumental is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead and service strategic customer programs across Taiwan (and partner with our team in China to deliver solutions for Vietnam and other APAC regions as needed). As our sole on-the-ground representative, you will work directly with customers and contract manufacturers (CMs) to integrate, optimize, and expand Instrumental’s AI-powered manufacturing solutions. This is a high-impact, customer-facing engineering role supporting some of our fastest-growing accounts during a period of rapid company growth.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a background in manufacturing design, automation, or technical program management — someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence and customer engagement. You’ll have the autonomy to drive outcomes while collaborating with a global team to ensure customers achieve transformative value.
Come join our team if you are passionate about improving electronics manufacturing, love working with a global team, and are energized when traveling to factories across Taiwan, Asia Pacific, and the world. The ideal candidate is multi-faceted, technically savvy, organized, and deeply customer-oriented.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own end-to-end program delivery for strategic accounts. In this role, you’ll travel to customer factory sites to accomplish company-critical missions, such as deploying Instrumental hardware/software into manufacturing environments and accelerating customer “time to value” by hand-tuning Instrumental algorithms and software. You’ll have support from our global team, but will be accountable for program success.
- Build relationships with customers and factory stakeholders. While on-site, you’ll build rapport with the various stakeholders who are critical to Instrumental’s success and pave the way for further adoption. You’ll leverage these relationships to complete your missions quickly and effectively. You’ll cement a strong technical and dependable reputation for yourself and Instrumental at large.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across time zones to resolve challenges. Act as the central point of communication between engineering, product, and customer teams worldwide, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of technical or operational issues. By bridging time zones and disciplines, you’ll keep projects moving forward smoothly and develop customer confidence in Instrumental’s solutions.
- Leverage Instrumental’s software to drive value. You’ll quickly become an expert in Instrumental’s software and technology, including many non-customer-facing functionalities. This will enable you to quickly identify how to get the most performance out of the system – whether that’s by making a physical tweak in the real world, adding training labels, or replicating customer tests. You’ll use your engineer’s understanding of how our customers derive value to rapidly achieve results.
What You Have:
- Experience getting things done in electronics factories. 5+ years of professional experience in electronics manufacturing, doing engineering or operations – either on the “brand” or EMS side. You understand factory environments, processes, and politics and can leverage that expertise to get things done quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to complete missions. You can share countless stories of mission ownership and completion, where you were able to deliver despite unforeseen or challenging circumstances. You love the idea of applying your diverse engineering and operations skillsets to critical company missions.
- Love the factory floor more than an office. This role is based out of a customer factory site. You will also be expected to travel to other factory sites on a regular basis, including transiting in the evenings and on weekends.
- Strong relationship-building skills. You naturally develop trust and rapport with customers, suppliers, and partners. You enjoy representing the company externally, aren’t afraid to tactfully challenge those in senior positions, and foster long-term, collaborative relationships that help drive mutual success.
- Excellent written and spoken Mandarin and English communication. This role will require rapid and effective communication with a variety of global stakeholders, representing Instrumental with our most important customers.
You’re encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn’t precisely match the job description.
