The Role
Moderna is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support the building and maintenance of IT infrastructure to support Moderna’s global site footprint. We’re looking for someone with a high level of integrity and personal accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and infrastructure technology domain expertise.
Here’s what you’ll do
Program Management – take a structured, data-driven, and risk-based approach to program scoping, execution, and reporting
Kick off and successfully manage multiple, simultaneous, complex, high visibility workstreams with full ownership, effective collaboration, and good process
Build processes, templates, and structure, or leverage existing ones as appropriate
Manage vendors, schedule, scope, and cost
Measure program success (or lack thereof) and risks using data and facts
Provide balanced risk remediation strategies and recommendations and drive risk mitigation
Develop and maintain close stakeholder relationships and build influence to drive the appropriate outcomes across Moderna
Provide clear, accurate, consistent, and timely communications
Advance good infrastructure and security practices and culture
Site Build – work with Network Engineering, Compute and Storage, Cloud, Identity and Access Management, IT, Cybersecurity, Real Estate, and business stakeholders to manage and drive IT infrastructure scope for site builds (eg offices, manufacturing, labs, etc)
Site Maintenance – plan and project manage IT Infrastructure maintenance, change, and decommissioning activities in a structured, predictable manner
Actively contribute to creating a more inclusive culture and environment at Moderna; endorse, create, and maintain antiracist policies and processes
Here’s what you’ll need (minimum qualifications)
8+ years of IT Construction and Facilities program management experience, preferably focused on infrastructure and/or network engineering
Demonstrated technical depth, problem-solving capabilities, and vendor management skills in site infrastructure build programs with network, cloud, identity, and IT workstreams
Ability to successfully scope and drive complex and multi-workstream programs in a structured, risk-considerate, data-driven fashion
Strong listener with the ability to deeply understand, ask the right questions, and proactively pursue constructive feedback
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Technical expertise in structured cabling systems, IDF/MDF buildouts and data center infrastructure implementations are preferred.
Experience managing large-scale infrastructure deployment projects with complex global logistics and vendor coordination, including time zone alignment, cross-border logistics, customs regulations, and international compliance requirements.
Familiarity with project budget planning, cost tracking, and vendor contract negotiations.
