What We Need:
As Synapse scales, we are implementing industry leading modern data platform to match the scale of growth and demands from business. The Senior Technical Product Manager, Data Strategy and Innovation will help execute high impact data solutions across various domains like Finance and Operations.
The role requires strong data as a product mindset and iterative thinking in order to deliver measurable business value.
What You Will Do:
As a member of the data team, the role requires expertise in three major areas:
Data Platform – Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Help implement vision and long-term strategies for Synapse Health’s data platform, balancing immediate needs and future scaling. Own and maintain the roadmap.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business problems, create success metrics and help define resource priorities.
- Understand and evangelize the domain-based data platform architecture and its capabilities to broader audience, both technical and non-technical.
- Help define mature data products that will be implemented on the data platform
- Ensure data products comply with internal standards and external regulations, including governance and privacy frameworks.
Communication and Influence
- Present strategies, initiative outcomes and next steps to the leadership.
- Conduct weekly business reviews (WBR) and be a facilitator for subsequent directed analyses.
- Create feedback loops to discover data driven opportunities in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Champion the metric layer modeled metrics and help drive their adoption across Synapse Health.
- Have an informed strong point of view to share with leadership regarding platform capabilities, feasibilities and risks. Negotiate delivery timelines for competing priorities.
- Act as a liaison between product, engineering and business to ensure transparent communication and alignment.
- Influence decision making by translating technical details into strategic insights supporting business goals.
Development and Implementation
- Be an active contributor to data platform architecture and development. Like all members of the team, this role is required to have ownership of some use cases.
- Help build data governance standards and guardrails across all access layers
- Explore the capabilities of current data and build AI/ML practices and solutions.
- Conduct deep dive on data issues, WBR follow-ups and leadership asks regarding known unknowns.
What You Have:
At Synapse Health we’ve intentionally built a culture of kindness, collaboration and creativity, and we consider those qualities to be table stakes for any new team member. Additional requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other related majors, plus at least 10 years of overall experience in Data and Analytics.
- Extensive experience building data products and creating strategic data roadmaps in operations or services-intensive businesses, ideally healthcare related.
- Prior experience working with modern data stack, SQL and Python environments
- Strategic thinking and stakeholder relationship management at the highest levels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience guiding business, product and engineering teams towards data driven decision making.
- Experience curating governance and stewardship of data assets.
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to solve ambiguous problems independently.

- Working knowledge of engineering best practices for privacy and security compliance with PII/PHI: HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA or similar regulatory frameworks.
