The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Designer to lead our garment construction, fit, and patternmaking. You will lead our technical design program and shape the future of Janji fit.
What You’ll Do
- Lead fit sessions, analyze results, and update patterns, specs, construction, and grading accordingly.
- Own the creation, modification, and maintenance of digital patterns in Optitex, ensuring ideal fit and design intent.
- Develop and maintain tech packs, receiving apparel designs, and clearly outlining construction and garment measurements.
- Collaborate with Design on translating sketches and concepts into production-ready. patterns and specs, ensuring the design intent is achieved.
- Partner with factories to troubleshoot fit, construction, and quality issues.
- Maintain consistent grading rules and fit standards across all categories.
- Mentor junior team members on technical processes and best practices.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of technical design experience, ideally in performance or outdoor apparel.
- Proficiency in Optitex patternmaking (required, but can learn).
- Deep understanding of garment construction, fit, and grading for knits and wovens.
- Strong technical communication skills for working with overseas factories.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, small-team environment.
- Bonus for experience in 3D patternmaking, like CLO.
