Role overview
The Senior Tax Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Tax Compliance and collaborate with various teams across the business, as well as with CarGurus' tax advisors and audit firm. The individual should demonstrate strong organizational/analytical skills, have an inquisitive nature and be a dedicated team member.
What you'll do
  • Assist with federal, state, and international income tax compliance, including data collection, tax adjustment computation, estimated payment calculations, state apportionment analysis, return review, and additional essential support.
  • Manage responsibilities related to indirect tax compliance, including data collection, responding to notices, return preparation/review, and other required assistance.
  • Support identified ad hoc projects such as R&D tax credit studies, transfer pricing reviews and other emerging projects.
  • Support the conclusion of all income and indirect global tax audits by reviewing audit notices and timely responding to document requests.
  • Assist with the quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740, including data collection, workpaper roll-forward, SOX control assistance, tax memo updates, and other necessary support, for the accurate preparation of the company's SEC disclosures and financial statement footnotes.
  • Collaborate on implementing standard methodologies and integrate acquired knowledge to encourage continuous improvement in processes, tools, communication, and training.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, with 3-5 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, intellectually curious and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to comfortably interact with colleagues in a professional and productive manner.
  • Motivated and proactive, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, progressive environment and to manage their own schedule and work independently.

The displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position. On-Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and on-target commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles.
Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package. In addition to benefits, this role may qualify for discretionary bonuses/incentives and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Position Pay Range
$77,000 - $96,000 USD
