The Role

This individual will be joining the Corporate Tax team in Boston, working closely with the Director and other team members to manage State and Local Indirect Tax function, including compliance, audits/controversies, planning, and system integrations for sales/use tax, personal property tax and similar tax types.  If you are a highly motivated tax professional looking to join a growing, high caliber team environment, then, this is an opportunity for you!

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business. Master of Taxation is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of multi-state Indirect tax experience in Big 4 public accounting or combination of public accounting and in-house tax department

  • Experience in preparing and reviewing state and local tax returns and workpapers. Indirect tax experience is a plus.

  • Experience preferred in reviewing and performing product analysis for sales/use tax determinations and multi-state software and technology tax technical knowledge

  • CPA is a plus.

  • Proficiency in workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Excel, Words, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Confirmed understanding of tax compliance software (Vertex and PTMS preferred)

  • Experience in ERP and/or procurement systems, such as Oracle R12 and Ariba is a plus

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance.

  • Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Detail and process oriented producing high quality work.

  • Excellent presentation and written and oral skills.

  • Collaborator communicating effectively and well with other professionals throughout the organization.    

  • Commitment to self-development, continuous learning and career advancement.

The Team

The Fidelity tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, and dynamic work environment. We strive to provide the best tax services to FMR LLC and affiliates. When you join the tax group, you will be joining a group of professionals who consistently look for ways to provide high quality tax services and continues to develop efficient processes.

The base salary range for this position is $71,000-$112,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
