STR is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator who can take ownership of core enterprise applications while also supporting the broader IT infrastructure that keeps the company running. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and central to maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of STR’s systems, applications, and cloud environments.

 What You’ll Do:

 Manage, maintain, and enhance key enterprise platforms including GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Teamwork Cloud, and Syndeia.

  • Perform upgrades, patches, monitoring, integrations, and troubleshooting across applications and systems.
  • Support Linux, Windows, and VMware environments, as well as cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar).
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to understand requirements, improve workflows, and maintain seamless CI/CD and collaboration toolchains.
  • Configure and optimize applications, access controls, authentication integrations (LDAP/AD), and automation workflows.
  • Troubleshoot complex interactions across servers, networks, storage, and databases in partnership with other technical teams.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity objectives, and high-availability initiatives for critical systems.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, change planning, documentation, and ongoing improvement of STR’s enterprise environment.
  • Contribute to security best practices, vulnerability remediation, and compliance across applications and systems.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues, refine architecture, and implement new capabilities.

What You Bring: 

  • 7–10+ years of hands-on experience in systems or applications administration.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required 
  • Strong background with one or more enterprise application platforms (GitLab, Jira, Confluence preferred).
  • Solid experience with Linux/Unix and Windows administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware/vSphere), networking fundamentals, and authentication services (AD, LDAP).
  • Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, collaborate cross‑functionally, and support a fast‑paced technical environment.

 Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
  • Experience with Teamwork Cloud, Syndeia, or other engineering collaboration systems.
  • DoD 8570 certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.).
  • Active Secret Clearance

Pay Information 

Full-Time Salary Range:  $137,000 to $170,000

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
