A Little More About this Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Claims Systems Analyst to support our Health Plan Administration function. As a subject matter expert on our claims processing system (Javelina) and its associated vendor integrations, you will lead workstreams within large-scale, technically complex projects. You’ll oversee the seamless implementation and rigorous testing of system changes across vendor platforms, ensuring alignment with internal systems, data integrity, and compliance with performance metrics. Additionally, you will design and manage a comprehensive issue and defect management framework, including request prioritization, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting, to optimize system functionality and mitigate risks.

You will:

●      Serve as a subject matter expert on vendor platforms and business processes, delivering strategic guidance to cross-functional teams.
●      Translate business and technical requirements into effective system solutions aligned with organizational needs and enterprise standards.
●      Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals, and desk-level guides.
●      Support strategic projects, providing gap analysis, defining system requirements and leading user acceptance testing.
●      Monitor and maintain vendor platform functionality, ensuring performance aligns with platform KPIs and organizational SLAs.
●      Design and manage a repeatable release management framework for vendor platforms, ensuring consistent deployment and change control practice.
●      Build strong vendor relationships during implementation by establishing issue management, invoice reconciliation, and SLA monitoring frameworks; transition vendor ownership to appropriate HPA team members when appropriate
●      Facilitate internal user groups and gather stakeholder feedback on platform usability, accessibility, effectiveness, and system compatibility.
●      Demonstrate commitment to our core competencies of being authentic, curious, creative, empathetic and outcome oriented.

You bring:
●      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
●      Deep technical and functional knowledge of Javelina
●      5+ years of experience in business analysis and/or product management within the healthcare industry
●      Advanced subject matter expertise in end-to-end claim adjudication processes and systems
●      Proven track record of supporting complex, multi-layered processes and projects
●      Strong ability to analyze complex requirements and design scalable, maintainable system solutions
●      Excellent interpersonal skills with experience facilitating user groups and gathering cross-functional feedback
●      Outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking skills
●      Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
●      Experience creating detailed reports and delivering presentations
●      Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities

Extra credit:
●      Previous start up company experience
●      Stop Loss experience
●      Business Analyst or Product Owner certification
●      Project Management and/or Scrum Master Certification
●      Six Sigma Green Belt certification

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
