Overview
The Senior Production Manager owns the end-to-end production process from purchase order placement through delivery, ensuring the product is produced accurately, on time, and aligned to business demand. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver operational excellence while supporting the company's continued growth.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with experience managing production timelines, vendor relationships, and competing priorities in a fast-paced consumer products environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Order Management
- Own the production lifecycle from PO placement through final delivery
- Place and confirm purchase orders, ensuring accuracy across product details, quantities, and timing
- Track production timelines and proactively resolve delays or risks
- Manage preorders and production flow against business demand
- Ensure inventory is accurately received and reconcile production-related discrepancies
- Review and approve COGS invoices and shipment documentation
- Oversee pre-shipment processes, including packscan validation and discrepancy resolution
- Develop and maintain production processes, SOPs, and documentation that improve operational efficiency and scalability
- Lead operational improvement initiatives that reduce manual work and improve execution
- Vendor Management
- Own day-to-day vendor relationships to ensure strong execution, communication, and accountability, while leveraging and overseeing an agency team member to support purchase order management, tracking, and production administration
- Partner with vendors to improve execution, communication, and service levels
- Evaluate and onboard new manufacturing, packaging, and logistics partners as needed
- Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Planning, Merchandising, and Operations to balance inventory needs, launch timing, production capacity, and financial objectives
- Manage component and packaging inventory requirements alongside internal stakeholders
- Adjust order flow based on demand trends, inventory risk, and evolving business priorities
- Provide visibility into production constraints, vendor capacity, and operational tradeoffs to support business decision-making
- Cost Management & Strategic Initiatives
- Manage freight coordination and associated costs within COGS
- Partner with internal teams to ensure cost visibility and alignment to financial targets
- Identify opportunities to improve freight efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline logistics
- Support broader cost-saving and margin improvement initiatives across the supply chain
- Lead special projects related to production, sourcing, operations, and supply chain optimization
- Independently drive cross-functional initiatives that improve operational scalability, efficiency, and business performance

- Vendor and partner relationships are highly responsive, accountable, and performance-driven

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in production, sourcing, supply chain, or operations within a consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing environment
- Experience managing purchase orders, production timelines, and vendor relationships
- Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to support decision-making, identify risks, and optimize costs
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively partner with internal teams and external vendors
