Senior Staff Engineer, Data Platform

SailPoint is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build our massively distributed cloud-based Data Platform that underpins our cloud-based Identity services. We are looking for well-rounded backend data platform engineers who are passionate about building and delivering reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products.

As a member of the team, you will be integral in building this product and will be part of an agile team that is in startup mode. This is a unique opportunity to build something from scratch but have the backing of an organization that has the muscle to take it to market quickly, with a very satisfied customer base.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver efficient, maintainable, robust data platform services.

• Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements.

• Collaborate with peers on designs, code reviews, and testing.

• Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage for new and existing features.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong Java and Python experience

• Great communication skills

• BS in Computer Science, or a related field

• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way.

• Acts as a mentor for junior developers.

• Help foster a community of continuous improvement

• Impeccable communication skills, both oral and written. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups.

Preferred:

• Experience with AWS cloud and a modern data technology stack like dbt, airflow, flink, snowflake, databricks

• Experience with Continuous Delivery

• Experience working on a Big Data/Machine Learning product

• Experience instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
