Senior Solutions Architect - Logistics
Amentum is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Senior Solutions Architect – Logistics to join our Enterprise Capture and Proposal Operations Group. This role supports the development and delivery of innovative solutions for large-scale DoD and Combatant Command (COCOM) opportunities, including Mega Deals valued at over $1 billion. The Senior Solutions Architect will leverage their logistics expertise to develop mission-critical solutions tailored to customer requirements, with a strong focus on effective communication and collaborative customer engagement.
This is a remote-telework role, work from anywhere within the US, must have the flexibility to travel as needed, providing direct support to capture and proposal efforts, as well as interfacing closely with customers to shape logistics-centric operational and technical solutions. US Citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement & Solution Development:
- Act as a trusted logistics expert and advisor to DoD and COCOM customers, cultivating relationships and gaining deep insights into their operational needs and challenges.
- Develop and present tailored logistics and supply chain solutions aligned with specific mission requirements.
- Document and support solutions that will be leveraged in proposals
- Facilitate discussions with customer stakeholders to align logistics strategies with evolving mission goals.
Mega Deal Pursuits:
- Lead logistics-related solutioning efforts for high-value pursuits (over $1B) by delivering expertise in supply chain management, sustainment strategies, and logistics technology integration.
- Collaborate directly with internal capture teams and customers to address challenges in logistics and supply chain modernization.
Solution Architecture:
- Apply in-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes, technologies, and best practices to design effective and efficient solutions for large DoD programs.
- Integrate cutting-edge logistics technologies (e.g., predictive analytics, supply chain automation, AI-driven inventory management) into solution designs to deliver efficiency and scalability.
- Develop and articulate logistics approaches that ensure operational continuity, cost efficiency, and mission readiness for customers.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (business development, capture management, proposal teams, and operations) to ensure customer-focused, high-quality solution development and compliance with technical requirements.
- Present complex logistics solutions clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior decision-makers at Amentum and within customer organizations.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to proposal and capture teams in specialized areas of logistics
- Travel as required to customer sites, meetings, and Amentum locations to support solution development, collaboration, and customer engagement efforts.
Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum Experience & Education Requirements:
- 15 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or sustainment operations within the DoD or COCOM environments, working directly with DoD/COCOM stakeholders to tailor logistics solutions to meet mission needs.
- Proven ability to translate operational needs and requirements into actionable and scalable logistics solutions.
- Strong proven financial experience running budgets for DOD or commercial entity.
- US Citizenship is required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies:
Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Robust expertise in logistics technologies, supply chain automation, enterprise resource management (ERP) systems, and/or sustainment strategies for mission-critical programs.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate modern logistics practices and technologies (e.g., predictive maintenance, real-time supply chain visibility, and inventory optimization) into solutions for enhanced readiness.
Communication Skills:
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex logistics concepts into concise, compelling presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers, understand their needs, and deliver impactful solutions.
Additional Information:
Location: This is a remote position allowing for the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US, with the ability and availability to travel to customer sites and Amentum locations as needed.
Travel Requirements: Periodic travel to customer locations for collaborative solution development, site visits, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Military Background:
- Prior service at the Officer level, with direct involvement in logistics or sustainment operations within a DoD service branch or COCOM is highly preferred
- Strong familiarity with COCOM operations and the logistics challenges and requirements associated with them is preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience working as an Attache or PAO which would require exceptional written and verbal communication
- Familiarity with Amentum’s portfolio of logistics, sustainment, and supply chain services in support of defense and mission-critical programs.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition and contracting processes, including experience developing proposals in response to government solicitations.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Compensation Details:
200K - 230K
