Job Description:

Position Description: 

 

Implements solutions for the Enterprise Cloud Computing (ECC) team with Fidelity Investments using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Performs all Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities including designing, developing, testing and deploying. Develops software applications by leveraging Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies. Performs software deployments and migrations with programming languages -- C#, Powershell, .Net, Python, Java and Go in a DevOps environment. Designs and develops automation and leads production improvements. Develops and maintains container and serverless applications by leveraging application programing interfaces (APIs) and API frameworks -- Spring Boot and Apollo. Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines that are used to deploy infrastructure and applications, using Jenkins, GitHub, and Sonar. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Collaborates with software engineering colleagues, internal business customers, and vendors to enable acceleration of transition to the cloud in a secure manner. 

  • Prototypes security tools and controls for secure cloud practices. 

  • Communicates technical solutions, risks, and business value to peers and leadership. 

  • Designs and implements automated cloud security solutions. 

  • Designs, implements, and enhances security controls for the cloud. 

  • Protects data and software applications in the cloud. 

  • Maintains and contains business risk as it pertains to cloud infrastructure. 

  • Coordinates software system installation and monitors its functions to ensure specifications are met. 

  • Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, works individually or coordinates database development as part of a team. 

  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposes modifications and improvements based on user need. 

  • Develops software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation. 

  • Mentor junior members on the team regarding engineering best practices and test driven development. 

  • Contribute towards building reusable solutions across team and department. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and supporting Cloud native applications on AWS and Azure within a financial or telecom services environment.  

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and supporting Cloud native applications on AWS and Azure within a financial or telecom services environment. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Web and middleware applications, and RESTful APIs according to Agile methodologies, using Python, PowerShell, or GIT and using Cloud application development solutions -- AWS and Azure. 

  • DE identifying risks targeting Windows, Linux platforms, public Cloud services (Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)) and on-prem infrastructure, designing and implementing security guardrails, testing effectiveness of guardrails using Active Roles, Python and Excel, and enhancing monitoring using Datadog and Cloudaware, and performing auto remediation using Divvy. 

  • DE designing and developing SQL and NoSQL databases -- Oracle/SQL Server/Azure SQL/ Cosmos DB, creating views using complex SQL queries to enable faster analysis, and performing security analysis on large database servers to enhance access control and prevent risks due to security vulnerabilities. 

  • DE performing data analytics using R, Python and Excel and data visualizations using PowerBI and Tableau to impact the decision making related to security for enterprise cloud applications.
