Conduit Tech is a team within ServiceTitan building products to enable the clean energy workforce to be more productive and effective - starting with software tools for HVAC pros. By supporting HVAC Pros in designing, selling, and installing high-efficiency HVAC systems, Conduit helps mitigate grid strain, reduce home energy use and enhance occupant comfort. We’re working with over 300 HVAC companies across 35+ US states, generating direct product feedback and revenue.
Conduit Tech is seeking a Senior Engineer to play a critical role in building features for our core product, with a focus on the backend. The ideal candidate will have experience with Python, extensive database knowledge, and a track record of delivering features from planning to production.
What you'll do:Own entire features from planning through deployment
Update data models as we learn more about our users and their needs
Build reliable integrations with external service APIs
Fix those weird bugs that only show up in production
Keep our application secure and performant
Write documentation your teammates will actually thank you for
Serious Python skills for APIs, reporting, and data processing (we use Django and Celery)
Experience with relational databases and ORMs (we're on PostgreSQL with Django's ORM)
A track record of shipping complex features end-to-end
The ability to balance speed with quality (we move fast, but we don't break things)
A collaborative approach - we pair program, jump into huddles, and actually help each other
US residence and work authorization
Experience with Django and PostgreSQL (our current backend stack)
TypeScript/JavaScript and Web development knowledge (for when backend isn't challenging enough)
AWS, Terraform, and Docker experience (we're cloud-native)
A history of improving development processes and tools
We ship incrementally and often - even the biggest projects get delivered in phases
We test thoroughly (and automate those tests)
We collaborate closely - expect to be on calls with product, design, and other engineers
We value thoughtful communication - written and verbal
We trust you to manage your time and priorities (no micromanagement here)

Practical Evaluation: A take-home challenge (reasonable scope, we promise).
Team Interviews (3 hours): Meet with team members to dive deeper into technical skills, system design, and team fit.

We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation.The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $151,100 USD - $202,100 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location.
