The Senior Software Engineer will lead the technical strategy for Plaid’s web platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams, onboarding new engineers, and ensuring high technical standards.

The web engineering team is responsible for developing and maintaining Plaid’s website, which is central to our brand and Growth strategies. We’re embarking on an exciting journey to reimagine our site and transform how we connect with customers, showcase our products, and communicate our story. The transformation is happening at all levels as we re-evaluate both the technical platform we’ve built and the customer experience. We’re a highly cross-functional group across Engineering, Product, Design, and Marketing that is looking for an engineering lead to join our team.
As an engineer for the team, you’ll have a central role in reshaping Plaid’s brand with deeply engaging, interactive and impactful web pages. You’ll have the opportunity to lead development on full pages and contribute to more templatized pages that are published via our CMS. You’ll achieve this alongside a team of engineers who value impact, user delight, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical strategy for our web platform, championing performance, availability, reliability, accessibility, user delight, and internal velocity. Additionally, contribute to executing against the strategy
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Design, and Product to set strategy, roadmap, timelines
- Onboard new members to team and maintain a high standard for technical excellence
- Represent web needs in our overall frontend platform efforts focused on the build, deploy, and monitor experience
Qualifications
- 6+ years as an engineer on a website for a tech company with a product lead growth motion
- Extensive experience in both static and server-side websites
- Extensive experience leading the development of a robust web platform with a CMS
- Extensive experience with Javascript, React, or other modern UI frameworks/libraries
- Prior experience working on a stack with Google Analytics, Marketo, Segment
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or similar
- Familiarity with technical SEO optimization
- Experience coaching mid and senior level engineers
