About the Role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the Post Submit Experience team, you'll build and scale the systems that keep customers informed and confident after they send a transfer — from real-time notifications to transaction tracking and support tooling. Your work will directly shape the moment millions of people around the world feel the most anxious about their money, making reliability and clarity core to your impact. This hybrid role is based in our Seattle, WA office, where you'll collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering partners to drive meaningful outcomes for a global customer base.  You will report to the Engineering Manager for the team. You will work in a hybrid capacity from our Seattle office.

You Will

  • Lead technical design and architecture by driving end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-functional systems that support post-transaction customer experiences at scale.

  • Write and review high-quality code across the full software development lifecycle, setting a high bar for engineering standards and providing meaningful feedback in code reviews.

  • Identify and resolve ambiguous technical problems by breaking down large, undefined challenges into clear, actionable solutions with measurable outcomes.

  • Mentor and support fellow engineers by sharing technical expertise, fostering a culture of learning, and helping teammates grow through guidance and constructive collaboration.

  • Partner cross-functionally with product, data, and design teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions that serve a diverse global customer base.

  • Champion operational excellence by improving system observability, driving incident response, and proactively addressing reliability, performance, and security concerns.

You Have

  • 8 or more years of professional software development experience.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and building distributed, large-scale backend systems with a strong understanding of service-oriented or microservices architecture.

  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, with a consistent record of delivering production-quality code.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including familiarity with managed services, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate technical ambiguity, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver pragmatic solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams, with clear written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience mentoring other engineers or informally leading technical initiatives on a team is a plus.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
