Why You'll Love This Role

In this role, you will work closely with Product, Operations, and other business functions while collaborating with your direct team to design and implement features and functionality for Cribl Lake. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute your strong experience to help your team achieve great results. You’ll tackle product-related challenges and requirements, participating in the design, implementation, and rollout of features as a valued technical contributor within your team.


As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will...

  • Contribute to the technical direction and architecture of Cribl Lake and Lakehouse, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help deliver on product roadmaps and objectives.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with peers and junior engineers, fostering a supportive team culture.
  • Help identify and address technical risks and debt within the codebase.
  • Write maintainable code and support engineering standards within the team.
  • Optimize and extend the capabilities of Cribl Lake and Lakehouse, especially in distributed systems and cloud technologies.
  • This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties


If You've Got It - We Want It

  • Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and testable code (Node.js/TypeScript).
  • Significant experience in complex development environments, particularly in distributed systems and SaaS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of backend service development on cloud providers, preferably AWS.
  • Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, Linux, and distributed systems.
  • Experience using assertion frameworks and tools like Mocha, Cypress, Jest to automate regression checks.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Dedication to producing high-quality software.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as BitBucket, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.
  • Experience implementing various cloud design patterns.
  • Experience with serverless / lambda-based implementations.
  • Willingness to share ideas and collaborate.
  • Comfort working remotely.
  • Appreciation for humor and a love for goats.


Salary Range ($180,000 - $210,000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
